Installing BlackBerry Connect Software For Nokia Devices
All Nokia devices from O2 that support BlackBerry Connect come with the BlackBerry Connect software pre-loaded, either on a memory card (Nokia E61, Nokia 9300i), or as a file within the devices memory (Nokia E50, Nokia E65). During the life of a device there may be reasons why the the software needs to be reloaded and reinstalled onto your device. These instructions explain how to reload BlackBerry Connect software onto your Nokia device.
Before you start
To reload the BlackBerry Connect software for Nokia devices, you will need the Nokia PC Suite software successfully installed on your PC, and the USB connecting cable that came with the phone. It is the PC Suite software that is used to transfer the BlackBerry Connect software to your phone.
Instructions
Step 1: On this page click on the correct BlackBerry Connect software link for your phone, download the software to your PC, and remember where it is saved.
Step 2: Start up the Nokia PC Suite software, power on your phone, and then connect your Nokia phone using the USB cable provided. When it appears on the phone, select "PC Suite" mode on the menu that is shown. The PC Suite software on your personal computer should now show that your phone is connected.
Step 3: Select the "Install Applications" icon from the PC Suite menu, the Nokia Application Installer programme will then start.
Step 4: Using ther part of the screen named "My Computer" browse and then select the BlackBerry Connect software that you have just downloaded. When you select the file most Nokia PC Suite software will then confirm that that the software is a "Symbian Application"
Step 5: To transfer and start the installation process on your phone click the install arrow, or select "Install" from the "My Computer" menu.
Step 6: The software on your personal computer will then ask you to complete the installation of the software on your phone.
Step 7: On your phone confirm that you wish install the BlackBerry software by pressing "Yes", followed by "Continue". The BlackBerry software will then be installed on your phone. At the end of the installation you may be asked if you want to turn on the BlackBerry software, which you can answer "Yes".
Step 8: The BlackBerry Connect software is now reloaded and reinstalled on your phone. You will now need to configure the BlackBerry service with your e-mail account.
